What’s New in 1.8.300.27

·      Event Logging The following events are now posted to the SuccessWare21 event log. This is a change in the event log only and does not require any process change to implement.

o   Merge/Delete Billing Account, Merge/Delete Location, Merge/Delete Vendor - These events are posted when either a Billing Account, Location or Vender Merge/Delete operation takes place.

What’s New in 1.8.300.17

·      SSL Email – Email Setup now has an option to enable secure connections using SSL/TLS.  Some email providers (e.g. Gmail) only allow SSL connections.  You can access Email Setup either via Company Setup or the Comm (Paging) Center.  Note: This option is only available on LAN (non-ASP) installations since LAN users must manage their own email settings.  On the ASP, the mail server is administered centrally for ASP users.

What’s New in 1.8.300.14

·      Payment Method Lookups – There is now a menu option for removing payment items (credit cards) from the historical Payment Method popup menus.  In Billing Account Details, use the Payment Method dropdown to get a menu of historical credit card payments that can be hidden/removed.  There is a new separate user ability (see Receivables tab of User Group Setup) that is necessary to see and perform this action.  An entry in the event log will be created when this action is taken.

·      GPS Link – SuccessWare®21 now has integration capabilities with several in-truck GPS systems.  For more information, click here.

·      Purchase Order Expected Date – An Expected Date field has been added to the Purchase Order Form as an optional entry.  The new field will also show in:

-    Purchasing Manager – new Expected Date column in grid

-    Purchase Order Status and Purchase Order Item Status Reports – new Expected Date column in report, plus options to filter, sort and group by Expected Date

-    Preview / Printed Purchase Order – added Expected Date to the report

·      Reversing General Ledger entries – SuccessWare®21 now has the ability to automatically posting reversing G/L entries.  There are two ways this can be accomplished:

-    When entering journal entries, select the Auto-Reverse option and enter a Reverse date.

-    If the entries you want to reverse have already been posted, use Copy Existing or Reverse Existing to look up the transaction by Transaction ID.

1.     If you use Copy Existing, the transactions will be copied in as they were posted.  Transactions may be modified in any way before posting.

2.     If you use Reverse Existing, the entries will be copied in reversed – i.e. debit amount will be copied into credit, and vice versa.  You may enter a Date and Reference for the reversal, but the transactions may not be modified in any other way in order to maintain the integrity of the reversal.

A "stream write error" would sometimes occur in a Citrix 64-bit environment when exporting payroll to a client drive letter.  We fixed this in April 2013 for the QuickBooks payroll export.  This applies the same fix to the other export format options.

Job Summary Analysis Report

When running the report with Expanded Detail, the order of the fields in the exported text file did not match the report making it very difficult to determine which columns were for which fields.  We modified the text field order so that fields are in the same order as shown in the report.

There were also several fields that were in the report, but missing from the exported text file.

Agreement Sold Partial Pay was not showing the correct value in the exported text file.

It was possible to perform actions/edits on an invoice while it was posting.  On occasion some changes would cause a faulty posting (or adjusting) of the invoice where the invoice would show in receivables and GL, but still show as unposted.  Actions and buttons on the form are now disabled while the invoice is posting in order to prevent these problems.

On occasion, barcode label settings could be generated and saved that would cause future attempts to preview or set up labels to lock up.  Added additional validation that should prevent the lockups.

Recurring Vendor Invoices

Since 1.8.300, for some companies, creating of recurring vendor invoice template or creating of the next invoice from a recurring template was failing.  No error was being displayed, but the error in the event log was "Cannot insert NULL value...".

Emailing reports

Recent changes to email setup and configuration caused a problem with report emails.  If the the From address was changed on the report email dialog, replies to the sent email were going to the return address that was entered in email setup.  This has been corrected so that changes to From address will also control the ReplyTo address.

Agreement Manager

There was some confusion over the meaning of the renewal filters (Pending Renewals (RNP), Accepted Renewals (RNA), and Failed Renewals (RNF)) in the Agreement Manager.  The same wording was used in the Agreement Status Form to indicate information about subsequent renewals. Since the working of the labels was the same, some users assumed that the filters in the agreement manager were referring to the status of the subsequent renewals, and not to renewals themselves.  The hints on the filters have been modified and the fields in the agreement status form have been better identified in order to try to avoid this confusion.

Email Paging

When splitting messages via Character Limit, the message segment identifier has been modified when there is no subject and the segment identifier is being placed into the email body.  The old format was '[1/3]' (meaning 1 of 3 messages).  The new format is '1/3 ' (no brackets and followed by a space character).  Some phones (e.g. Sprint Kyocera Dura) may be able to recognize this new segment identifier and, if the Long Message Reassembly option is enabled on the phone, reassemble the separate messages back into one.

Agreement Deferral Analysis and Agreement Reserve Analysis Reports

Would sometimes error out with "Data type mismatch in criteria expression" error

General, version updates

Sometimes after an update was downloaded and installed, the attempt to process the version update would fail with a bogus "database in use" message on the SW21_Master database.

Journal Entry

When attempting to copy a previously posted entry for posting or reversal, if the entry was missing a description or reference, the copy was not being allowed.  This has been changed to a warning only, since descriptions and reference are not required for journal entries during normal data entry.
