What’s New in 1.7.600.28

·      Opportunities Report—The Opportunities Report has some new options:

-    Added options to the report for printing follow up (scheduled) and unscheduled follow up.  When using these options the date range is based upon follow up date instead of opportunity date.

-    Added an option to show information from the opportunity generating job. Added fields include job no, work done, and work suggested.

·      Work Order Report— Added an option for Print Work Suggested Summary.  When selected only those jobs whose invoice has work suggested entered will print.

What’s New in 1.7.600.13

·      Permits - job type requirements In the Job Type Reference Book, a field has been added to indicate 'Permit Required' for individual job types.  When creating a job and assigning a job type, the job's 'Permit Required' will be set based upon the job type setting.

-    Job Form: A 'Permit' button has been added.  The label on this button will describe the status of the jobs permits: it will indicate the number of permits, or show 'Permit Required' if required and permit(s) have not been created.

-    Permit Form: By checking the 'Permit Required' button in the lower left hand corner, you can modify the Permit Requirement for the specific job.  This is your override to the setting brought in from the Job Type.

-    Call Center: Similar to the text on the Permit button added to the Job form, the status of permits will be displayed on the call info panel at the bottom of the call center.  Click on this label to open the jobs permits.

·      Discount Types using flat amount—Discount types in the Reference Library can now be set up for a flat amount, rather than as a percentage.  A single discount type can be set up with either a flat amount or a percentage, but not both.

-    A/R Invoice - When doing an "Invoice discount" and a discount type that is set up for a flat amount is selected, the discount amount for the invoice will be set to the amount on the discount type.  If you are using "Discountable items", a flat amount on the discount type is ignored since "Discountable Items" only functions as a percentage of the discountable line items.

-    Agreement - The discount on an agreement can also be set up for a flat amount per repair, rather than as a percentage.

What’s New in 1.7.600.11

·      Transactions and Finalized Jobs—New purchase orders, vendor invoices, and inventory requisitions are no longer allowed after job finalization, or if the job has been canceled.  When finalizing, the user will be informed whether there are any open purchase orders or vendor invoices.  If there are purchase orders that have not been received, the job may not be finalized.

What’s New in 1.7.600.10

·      Pricebook - Pricing Setup— Added a new feature in pricing setup for task price levels that allows the user to specify whether a percentage +/- should be applied to Parts, Labor, and/or Misc independently.  Previously, the percentage +/- would always be applied to the total task.

·      Payroll - Posting payroll periods— Payroll periods can now be posted on the Period End Date.  This can be useful if you typically must close your general ledger fiscal period before the end of the payroll period.  If you choose this option, you would want to consider whether to make manual journal entries for wages accrued through the end of the month.  Select this option under the G/L tab of the Payroll Setup form.

·      Wage Source Report— Added a new feature that allows the report to be printed by a user selected date range that can be different from the period start and end dates.  Note: Payroll periods for the date range selected must still be created and prepared in order for the wages to show up correctly.

What’s New in 1.7.600.7

·      Scheduling/Rescheduling Agreement Visits—New features have been added to the agreement form in order to enhance the scheduling and rescheduling of visits. Click here for more information

-    A field has been added that allows simple, direct control of whether a visit should be projected for the beginning, or ending, month of the agreement when the starting month of the agreement is selected for visit scheduling.

-    A new feature has been added that allows modification of the visit months assigned to an active agreement.

·      Selective Invoice Tracking—You can now select which invoice series letters to track.  This is useful if you only have a certain class of job that you want to track invoices for. Click here for more information.

·      Dual Monitors (LAN users)—If you are running dual monitors on your workstation, SuccessWare21 can now be moved from one monitor to the other.  Click here for more information.

Note: ASP users manage SuccessWare21 on multiple monitors through the use of Citrix windows.

·      Inventory Overflow Posting—Expense posting for inventory overflow situations now posts to General Ledger using the department assigned on the source document (vendor invoice item).  An inventory overflow situation occurs when the actual price on the vendor invoice is different than the expected cost on the receipt and inventory cannot be adjusted because the quantity affected is no longer on hand in inventory.

·      Purchase Order Item Status Report—This new report aids in tracking Purchase Orders at the item-ordered level.  With this report, you can easily see what items you have already ordered.  The report breaks this information down so you can quickly see which are ordered, backordered, canceled, or received.  This report can be found in the Purchasing section of the Report Gallery.

·      Event Log / Related Events—The Event Log Related Events feature allows you to quickly find events related to a particular Job, Customer, or other source.  The Related Events option can be found under the ‘Open’ option on customer and vendor related forms (Agreement, A/R Invoice, Billing Account Detail, Billing Account History, Job, Location, Projects, Purchase Order, Receipts, Vendor Detail, Vendor History, Vendor Invoice).  Selecting ‘Find Related Events…’ will open the Event Log form and prefill the ‘data type’ and ‘begins with’ fields.  Then select ‘Show Events’ to view the related events.  Access to this feature requires the View Event Log user ability in the Setup/Misc tab on the User Groups form.

·      Cancel Job/Call Comments—Canceling a Job or Canceling a Call will now require a user comment.  This user comment will be recorded along with the other information about the event in the event log.

-    To view events for a job, including the comment entered for a canceled call or job, open the job (F9).  On the right-click popup menu, select Open, then Find Related Events. When the event log form shows, select Show Events. Note that access to this feature requires the View Event Log user ability in the Setup/Misc tab on the User Groups form.

The VendorQuery command can now be submitted with an optional VendorName parameter to assist searching for a vendor.

Dual Monitors

With a multi-monotor setup, when using Add Timecard Labor (CTRL+SHIFT+T) from the A/R Invoice form, the Select Timecard Entries screen was not always showing on the same monitor as the invoice.

Several reports were not always showing on the correct monitor in a multi-monitor situation.

Job

A recent changed removed the ability to Close and Finalize a job all in one edit/save cycle.  Since the change, it was necessary to Close, Save, Finalize.  The Finalize option has been added back into the popup menu that is available when closing a job, so that jobs can again be finalized without the intermediate Save.

Call Progress

After uncompleting a call in order to make changes to times, and assignments are still all complete, you will now be prompted "Is Call Complete?" when saving changes so that it will no longer be necessary to remember to re-open Call Progress and "Complete Call".

After completing an assignment, in addition to being able to make changes to that assignment before saving which was a change in a recent update), you will also now be able to add additional assignment(s) without being required to save the first change and re-open Call Progress.

Job Form

Added a check to prevent the job class from being changed from, a regular job class to a sales job class, if there are any Purchase Orders or Vendor Invoices attached, since sales jobs are not allowed to have PO's or vendor invoices.

Purchase Order

It was possible to cancel a PO that has an unposted receipt, then post the receipt.  This would result in a canceled PO with items received which is not allowed.  Now when canceling, the system will check for attached receipts/vendor invoices and prevent canceling until the attached receipt/vendor invoice is first canceled/deleted.

Call Progress

When all assignments had completed times, but before the changes have been committed (OK'd), the grid would become "locked" and it was no longer possible to make corrections to the assignment times if something had been entered incorrectly.

Inventory Returns

If an item was deactivated and an attempt was made to return the item to inventory from a job, it was possible that the return would have been created with a different item number if there were similarities between the two item numbers.  For example, if the inactive item was 112B90 and another item was 112B90C, a return for 112B90 would have resulted in a return for 112B90C instead.

Agreement

If specific days of the month are set up for agreement periodic billing, the agreement form was not adhering to the setup days if agreement templates which included the billing method were not being used or if the billing method was being changed to periodic billing from something other method.

A/R Invoice Item Detail

There was a conflict in the ALT+L shortcut key.  Both the Call button and Labor button were labeled with the ALT+L shortcut.  Only Call would respond to the keystroke.  That functionality has been maintained since it is consistent with the main A/R Invoice form, but the shortcut for Labor has been changed to ALT+B.

Call Center

After using the Needs Attention button to view Needs Attention calls in the Call Manager, clicking the button again will return the Call Manager to its previous view.

Job Form, Project Billing, A/R Invoice Credits

Customer Payment Method menu has been reformatted to include only unique credit card payment history and eliminate non credit card history.  Cash and Check payment types have also been added to the top of the menu for quick selection.

There is now a button to access the Archived History.

In the Archived History view, a button has been added, to make it easier to 'Add History'.

The Auto Allocation option was not always available when it should have been.  You had to enter and exit the Amount field in order to activate it.

Call Center

When first opened, if the default view is the horizontal view, the visible hours were not properly adjusting to the saved setting - for example 19 hours might display even though the saved preference was set for say 9 hours.

Agreement Manager

Using the Up/Down arrows to adjust dates was not causing the 'Apply' and 'Cancel' buttons to appear in order to be able to apply the filter changes.

Job - Finalizing

The requirement that all purchase orders be closed and all vendor invoices be posted before finalizing a job was too restrictive.  A delay in receiving vendor invoices should not prevent finalizing a job.  Now the system will report whether any purchase orders are open or any vendor invoices are unposted, but will only prevent job finalization if inventory counting is active and any purchase orders are not fully received.

G/L Budget - Check Budget Integrity utility

Some budget items were incorrectly translated into a debit or credit amount based upon the account type and whether a positive or negative value was entered for the budget amount. As a result, budget values may have been showing incorrectly on the Income Statement Report.  If this inconsistency is detected, the utility will automatically pop up whenever running the Income Statement Report or opening Budget Setup.

A/R Invoices

When adding a new Task item, the 'TX' field would always default to false.  It will now default to whatever the last item was set to, in order to speed up item entry on invoices.

Job Form, Job Manager Form, Call Center

When trying to open a new or existing Purchase order, Requisition, Return, or Vendor Invoice from a job, the menu would appear and hang in midair.  If it only had one or two items on it, it would be easy to overlook.  This menu has been converted to a submenu to reduce confusion.

When a statement report covers multiple pages, the data for a single receivable item may have been split across the page break.

A/R Invoice Detail, Cost Plus, Cost Detail

On the A/R Invoice Detail form, the part, labor, and misc buttons to control the detail grid view, all had checkboxes which when checked indicated there was detail in for that item type.  Checking the box had no affect and did not select the button.  This  was misleading and confusing for some users so the checkboxes have been removed.  Now, the checkboxes have been removed and the image changes when there is detail for that item type and the selected button will remain depressed.

Invoice Line Item Cost Entry

Added 'Reported Hrs' field to the Labor itemization area.  This field shows the Reported Hours as submitted from the field by third-party applications, such as SWRemote Tech.

Adding items to an Inventory Count document would fail when validating the item, if it was not part of the stock on the warehouse that was being counted, but was part of the stock for some other warehouse.

Pricebook - Pricing Setup

Added a new feature in pricing setup for task price levels that allows the user to specify whether a percentage +/- should be applied to Parts, Labor, and/or Misc independently.  Previously, the percentage would always be applied to the total task.

Payroll Posting

Payroll periods can now be posted on the Period End Date.  This can be useful if you typically must close your general ledger fiscal period before the end of the payroll period.  If you choose this option, you would want to consider whether to make manual journal entries for wages accrued through the end of the month.  Select this option under the G/L tab of the Payroll Setup form.

Job Summary

Some users, on occasion, were experiencing problems editing the Job Summary.  The mouse icon would display as an Hourglass, and would not return to the normal arrow.
