Successware now supports a more robust option when you want to print bar coded item labels.
l Generate item lists for labels from item/stock reports, receipts, and A/P invoices.
l Use quantities from the source report or document as the default number of labels to print for each item
l Specify a different number of labels to be printed for each item using the Barcode Label Generator.
l Take advantage of the ‘label lot quantity’ when determining the number of labels to print.
l
Print more durable labels from a dedicated
‘roll’ style label printer.
(the Citizen CLP 521 direct thermal printer is recommended and supported by
SuccessWare)
SuccessWare21 allows you generate label lists from several places in the program. You can access the Barcode Label Generator from…
l Inventory Warehouse Stock List—click the barcode button at the bottom of the report dialog.
l Inventory Part List—click the barcode button at the bottom of the report dialog.
l Pricebook Item List—click the barcode button at the bottom of the report dialog.
l A/P Invoice—right click on the form/grid and select ‘Print barcode labels …’
l Receipt—right click on the form/grid and select ‘Print barcode labels…’
l Inventory Manager—in the Stock/Whse or Parts view, right click on the item grid and select ‘Print barcode labels …’
Generating a label item list populates the Barcode Label Generator with a single row for each item. Each item will include columns for item information (number, description, etc…) and also…
l PrintQty: the number of labels to print.
l ‘Special’ quantity—This is the quantity (on-hand, received, etc.) originating from the source report or document.
l LabelLotQty: the number of items to include in a single label. The label lot quantity is applied by setting the print quantity equal to the item quantity divided by the label lot quantity: Label Quantity = Item Quantity / Label Lot Quantity. For instance, a label lot quantity of 5 will generate one label for every 5 items.
The grid displays each item and allows you to select the quantity of labels for each item you want to print. By default, each label is set to a quantity defined by the source of the label's information. Label lists generated from the Warehouse Stock List, Part List, and the Inventory Manager use the quantity on hand, either on hand in the associated warehouse or total on hand when a specific warehouse is not available. The A/P Invoice and the Receipt will use a default print quantity equal to the ‘invoiced quantity’ or ‘received quantity’ for the items. The Pricebook Item List starts with a quantity of one for all items.
You can edit the Print Qty in the grid by:
l manually typing a value for the print quantity, or
l clicking on the ‘special’ quantity next to the Print Qty column to set the Print Qty to the original Special Qty, or
l clicking on the Label Lot Qty to set Print Qty to the Special Qty divided by Label Lot Qty.
l You can also modify the print quantity by right-clicking on the grid to access the Barcode Label Generators popup menu, and selecting the ‘PrintQty’ submenu
l to modify the selected item, use one of the following
o Set to Original <special quantity>
o
Apply Label
l to modify all items at once, use one of the following
o Set All to Original <special quantity>
o
Apply Label
o Set All to one
o Set All to zero
o Set All to custom (you will be prompted to enter a quantity for each label)
l Notice that when the print quantity for an item matches the ‘special’ quantity or matches the 'special' quantity with the ‘Label Lot Qty’ applied, the appropriate column cell(s) will be highlighted for that item. This is helpful for identifying the quantities selected in larger lists.
The Setup button will open the Setup window, where you can select exactly what information to include on your labels. You can still print standard Avery labels as before, but now, you can print more durable labels using a dedicated label printer. Select Custom Labels if you are using a dedicated label printer. These labels are especially useful when counting and tracking inventory, and also helps reduce wasted labels. The Citizen CLP 521 printer is recommended and supported by SuccessWare.
Depending on the size of your custom labels you can also optionally include other related information, if available from the source report or document:
l Serial number (with barcode)
l Warehouse name, bin, min, and max (with or without a barcode)
l Job number (with or without a barcode)
This button opens a preview of the Label Report, allowing you to review the labels before sending them to the printer.
