The “Standard Text Export” method exports the wage summary for a period to a standard text file. You may want to use this export method to provide payroll information to your payroll service or payroll software. Check with your payroll service or payroll software to determine if this file can be imported. The file specifications are detailed below.
To use this export method:
· Determine if your payroll service or software can import this file format (see File Specification below).
· In Payroll Setup (“Main Menu | Setup | Payroll”, Import/Export Tab)
o Select “Standard Text Export” as your “Import/Export Folder”.
o Specify a valid “Import/Export Folder”. Note that this folder must be visible from the workstation that exports the payroll information.
· Export your periods after posting
o The file will be created in the “Import/Export Folder” as specified in payroll setup. The “Import/Export Folder” must be visible from the workstation that exports the payroll information.
o
The file will be named
<yyyymmdd>_<periodtype>_<periodid>.txt.
<yyyymmdd>  the ending date of the
period being exported.
<periodtype>  a single character
(W,B,M, or S) for weekly, biweekly, monthly, semimonthly.
<periodid>  the period Id number
for the period within SuccessWare21.
For example,  the weekly period #25
ending September 12, 2004 would create the file named: “20040912_W_25.txt”.
NOTE: Payroll Period Reconciliation information can be imported. Review the Payroll: Reconciliation Import documentation to determine if your payroll service or software can provide you with the necessary text file(s).
The Standard Export Method creates a comma delimited text file. The first line/record of the file contains the fieldnames. The following lines/records contain the wage summary detail.
